Anthems & influences with Year of the Wolf

Year of the Wolf is an authentic, energetic modern take on Rock n Roll. While taking heavy influence from other bands in the community, Year of the Wolf loves seeing other bands reach their goals and are incredibly encouraged and motivated by the music scene here in Vancouver.

As a band, how have you evolved and grown over the past 5 years?
Kyle and Chad formed Year of the Wolf in 2012 as a two piece and now in 2018 we have evolved into a 6 piece band with lots of sound. Focused on growing our musicianship we have two EPs under our belt and just recently released our first full length album, recorded at Afterlife Studio here in Vancouver in 2017. We have also paid close a attention to developing an honest, energetic, and exciting live performance.

What has been your most memorable experience together as a band?
We've had many fortunate experiences over the lifetime of the band, all of which we are very grateful for. If we had to pick one I think our first tour back to Ontario, playing in Kyle Vaughan's home town of Constants Bay is certainly one that we will never forget.

What are some of your long-term goals as a band/artist?
There is definitely another record coming in the near future. Our long term goal is to continue playing more shows, introducing our music to new people, making new friends/relationships and always working towards being the best performing artists we can be.

What bands/artists are you currently listening to?
As a six piece band we can't help but listen to such a wide variety of music, however we all love listening to records of local artists. We love the new Bad Strangers album, Sam Lynch just released an EP and we can't wait to hear the new Small Town Artillery album dropping September 1st.

Year of the Wolf will be taking to the stage July 28th at the Rickshaw Theatre for our PSR PRESENTS Showcase. Then, catch the rock unit as they kick off Small Town Artillery's Don't Talk Away The Magic Album Release Concert at the Imperial September 1st.
